I am working on a research project and want to look at census data on a postcode level of the three biggest Australian cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane). I have the census data for all postcodes of the states (NSW, Victoria and Queensland) that these cities are located in (6000 in total) in an Excel spreadsheet (all postcodes in one column). I now want to do a postcode filtering in Excel to create the metro areas only subset. The range of postcodes I want to filter for is the following:
METRO AREA: POSTAL CODES
Greater Sydney: 2000-2263; 2555-2574; 2745-2787
Greater Melbourne: 3000-3211; 3335-3341; 3427-3442; 3750-3816; 3910-3944; 3975-3987
Greater Brisbane: 4000-4207; 4275-4346; 4500-4552

What would be the best way to do that?
