    Letters V or S equal to 0

    Hello,

I would like to enter in a cell S (sick) or V (vacation) and when refer to that cell that it is considered as 0.

As for now, When someone is sick or on vacation, I only put a 0 in the cell but by entering the "S" or "V" I could distinguis the vacation form the sickness.

would you then know how to associate formulas with letter that woudl be consider as 0? and could I do a Sum of all S and V in my excel??

    Thanks,
    G

You could use a SUM function and the S and V (being text) would be ignored.

You could use a COUNTIF function to count all the S values (or V values).

It is hard to give you a specific formula, as you have given no details about how your data is laid out - it would help if you attached a sample Excel workbook.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.

Please note that the Paperclip icon does not work.

    Hope this helps.
