Possible suggestions for Excel 2010 restarting and losing/removing all conditional formats

Hi have a file with a number of sheets, some sheets have quite a lot of conditional formatting, others none.
The file is about 5 Mb in size. Running on Windows 10.

Message reads "Microsoft Excel is trying to recover your information, this may take several minutes"

This appears to happen randomly, Excel will also crash after I save and close the file and shut down Excel, but without losing any CF.

Any help or suggestions on how I can go about resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion. No, I don't wont to delete any conditional formatting, Excel is crashing and Excel can not recover the conditional formats when it repairs the file.

    Try
    1. close Excel
    2. delete c:\Users\ХХХХХХХ\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\Excel1Х.xlb
    3. delete everything in c:\Users\ХХХХХХХ\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\
Folders are hidden, make them visible
    restart Windows
with your file it'd easier to help

At the end of April - specifically April 28 - after several Windows and non-Windows program updates - I don't know which one caused this - almost all of my Excel 2013 workbook files would crash when I made a change and tried to save them.

I spent many, many hours trying to solve this and then - EUREKA! - I discovered that ALL I NEEDED TO DO- was to remove any cell comments that I had made. Please, please, please try this if you are having problems.

A quick way to find if your spreadsheet has a comment is to highlight the entire spreadsheet and then go to Home then Find & Select and then Go to Special and click ok. You do not need to select "comments" because that is the first choice in "Go To Special." If you do have a comment, delete it and then, after all comments on all tabs in your workbook have been removed, save your workbook. If your problem is identical to mine you will find your workbook saves!

    Hi Charley,
I will try this when I have a moment. My file works well most of the time, but I do have comments in some of the sheets.
    Will keep you posted.
    Thanks
