    Unwanted Page

I create an Excel document for publishing, and actually this will be apparent if I print the document. Let's say the document is 2 pages long. For some reason Excel will create a 3rd page. Okay, maybe I did something to cause that, but...

How do I get rid of that 3rd page? Or, if I'm forced to create another document, how do I prevent that 3rd page from being created?

    Thanks Much

Pretty difficult for us to guess at what you've done without seeing the workbook/worksheet.

Chances are you've copied a formula down to far that results in "blank" but not empty cells. Or, it could be as simple as you've pressed the space bar somewhere down the page.

Go to the first blank row after the data and select ALL the rows to the bottom of the worksheet. Then delete them using the Delete icon on the Ribbon, not the delete key on the keyboard. Save, close and re-open the workbook and see if it's any better.

If not, post a sample workbook.

You could, of course, not look for the cause of the problem and just use set the Print Area on the Page Layout Ribbon.

    Re: Unwanted Page

Nope, didn't work. This is just a simple date sheet; I have a 4-page document with only 2 pages of data. The reason it's so annoying
is that I'm PDFing the file on my Google Drive for viewing. I don't want people to see those 2 blank sheets.

Anyway, I created a new document, and the problem is gone. I just wish I knew why I ended up with 4 sheets and why I couldn't delete
    the last 2.

    Thanks much for trying.

    Re: Unwanted Page

Suggest you post a sample workbook. Ideally, the original with any sensitive information deleted.

If you just walk away, you'll never know what caused it, or how to fix it. Chances are, if you can share the workbook, we'll be able to help you sort it out.

    Your choice

    Re: Unwanted Page

You mean that while printing or when converting file pdf to excel.
If while printing : Then why not select print range from page "1" - To page "2" only instead of "All" pages.

@avk: fair point, good solution, but it addresses the symptom, not the root cause.

    Re: Unwanted Page

Thanks, but I just discovered why I have extra pages for this particular document. I feel a little embarrassed for not seeing what should have been obvious.

    Thanks for replying
