    Steering Wheel KPI

    Hi all

Im trying to create the tesco steering wheel so i can edit it in excel (picture attached)Tesco.png

I have had no joy in finding a template and have created something myself, the problem is it requires alot of manual work as it is effectively 3 pie charts that i have to set the value to 10 on all segments to get equal sizes!

Any help would be great, ideally i want to --

Create the Tesco look with editable segments that dont change size. also i want to format the segments to change colour based on a -/+ value

    Thanks

If you search for Sunburst chart template. You should find several out there.
If you have access to Excel 2016, it's one of default template available.

Instead of two pie chart. Use Doughnut chart and use two series.
As long as both the inner series and outer series add up to same value (percentage, or otherwise) you can get different size slice to match up.

See attached, where I played a bit with your data. See if this is close to what you are looking for.
Other than this, it will require quite a bit of manual work and/or extensive coding.
There are few paid add-ins that will probably meet your need.

Thanks for that, it looks good. i can get the segments to be the same size by just giving them all equal values, is there a way i cant get the segments to turn red/green based on value (by that i mean the description i am using in the segments i.e +2.1% is green -2.1% red?

Also the outer doughnut doesn't seem to be displaying any text, are they text boxes you have added?

To auto change color, you'd probably need VBA. And I don't often manipulate charts in VBA. Most of my charting needs are done via Java (amCharts) or Power BI.

Edit: Found something that might work. See if you can apply the concept found in link.

Outer doughnut is displaying text fine on my end. It's just data label based on cell content.
