Firstly, anyone who does not have the fuzzy lookup add-in to which you refer will not be able to help, so please provide a link to it. Secondly, you have not included the formula which is currently failing, so instead of troubleshooting, you are asking us to work it out for you. What is the formula you are currently using that is not providing the right results?

OK - I downloaded the add-in. You have the tables the wrong way round - put table 2 on the left and table 1 on the right and highlight ONLY the model line in each (not the actuals).

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

    Hi Ali
I am just seeking advice to understand where i have gone wrong, i'm sorry if my post sounded rude, but my intention is not to get the readymade solution from here.
I have downloaded fuzzy lookup addin from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15011.
There's no formula in this addin, you have to simple link the two tables and you get the output.
I wasn't getting the output and hence i was just trying to figure out anyone who has installed same addin could help me out.

    Thanks

No rudeness inferred, I can assure you - I was just pointing out how to make your query easier to answer. I have shown you how to do it in post #3 above.

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

    Hi
I am still unable to get even if i put table 2 on left and table 1 on right.
What i want is model names from both table side by side.
Currently whatever table swapping i do, i end up with only one model name of the table which is their on the left

Yea i was working with an attachment you posted, and yet it returns the same error as earlier.
On left i have put table 2 and right is table 1.and i have linked model to model only.
I m still not getting both names side by side and similarity percentage is still showed as zero.

    Thanks

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

Well, I've done all I can, I'm afraid. I have provided a screen shot of the settings and a file in which I have it working using those settings. I've never used this add-in before today.

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

Ok thanks for your help AliGW anyways.
Even the attachement you sent, it doesnt have any similarity percentage, ideally it should have becuase model names differ in both tables.

May be you would have generated the output next to table 1 and hence would have got both names one next to each other.
if you generate on blank cells, you would observe that youll end up getting the same error as i had.

    Thanks

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

Well, you see you haven't told us what similarity percentage you are expecting, so how is one meant to help in this respect? What's the end goal? Surely just matching those columns is what you need.

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

I am not expecting any similarity percentage.
So basically what normal lookup does is if you are trying to lookup names from one set of data set to another, it returns the output for exact match.
But incase you have misspelled names in either of the data set you will not get the output.
Using fuzzy lookup you can arrange the correct names in one table and mispelled name in to other table and using addin u just link both tables and fuzzy lookup will tell you whats the output of that misspelled name and how similar (in terms of Ratio) is that name in both table.

In my attachment i have two table on with correct name and one with misspelled name and when i link it doesnt show how similar are these names .

Hope i am able to convey what i am trying to say,

    Thanks

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

There is no spelling mistake in your attachment that I can see in either of the two tables used in the fuzzy lookup. I must be missing something ... Anyway, I have to go now - maybe someone else will pick this up. Hope you get it sorted.

Re: Fuzzy Lookup not returning data from Second Table

    I finally got it.
If configuration is "By Default", it will not return any result in my case.
If you change it to "ZipCode", it works perfectly fine.

    Thanks
