Moving Complex Excel Application to Web

I have a large and complex xlsm with quite a bit of VBA code and a growing library of lookup tables. It grew organically and it's size has become a bit unwieldy. It really should be moved to a DB backend, but as part of that process, I think I would like to move the front-end to a Web interface. I am happy to do the needed coding, but I'm not even sure where to start with the process and googling has been surprisingly unhelpful (at least using the terms I tried).

Can anyone recommend a tool or list of resources? Ideally, my web front-end would have some database front-end features as well as an area that functions like an actual spreadsheet. I am just trying to find some samples that I can use to figure out how to approach the coding.

Your question is bit vague, but you'd probably use PHP to code front-end.

There's open source front-end generator for MySQL (based on PHP). It has DataGrid module, which allows you to work with DB like spreadsheet (uses AJAX data grid).
