    VLOOKUP Formula not working

    Hi all,

    On Sheet2 of the workbook attached I have a column (A:A) that copies one instance of a building ID number from Sheet1 (this building number will have numerous inputs of different issues noted during the inspection), basically I need Sheet2 column B:B to copy one instance of the date that the particular building was inspected, may be easier to understand when you look at my example. I have tried a code but can't get it to return the correct date...any ideas, as always thanks for any advice guys - Marco

    is this what you are looking for? ... =INDEX(Sheet1!B:B,MATCH(Sheet2!A3,Sheet1!D:D,0))

    Sorry I'm late I was going w/ INDEX/MATCH - it's more flexible than VLOOKUP and takes less memory- but Sambo kid's already there.

    Agree with humdingaling, that doesnt need to be array entered?
