spreadsheet attached on random group generator

I work at a school, and I had some help in creating a random generator in to 4 groups (i have attached the spreadsheet). I work at one of those few schools in the country where the form group is vertical tutoring (mixed year group). My year 11 students have left for exams, also sometimes particular students will not be in form because they might have for example music instrument practise. How can I take out names from the spreadsheet that is attached without the spreadsheet macro messing up? For example if i take out student 12, 16 & 20 it give n/a, this happens when i take out any student.

    Thank you.

Instead of deleting, just hit the space bar, then press Enter. Leaves an apparently blank row, but counts are preserved, etc.
Alternatively, re-write the random column to show 0 if name missing. Maybe more to that, but...

if i did what leelnich has suggested just leave the row blank this results in the group being uneven, so it could end up with a group with just 1 person.

Sorry, msa969, weak efforts on my part. I'll build a VBA solution. Check back in an hour. - Lee
    Make that 22:00.

Ok, sorry for the delay, had to stop by the office. Here's a macro that handles the randomizing and group distribution. It allows for changes in the student list (which is sorted each time it's run) AND the number of groups. I also re-arranged your sheet, hope that's acceptable. Regards-Lee
