Email hyperlink not updating correctly in Locked sheet.

HI ,
I am new to this forum and am posting to see if anyone could help me work out whats preventing the hyperlink from updating properly.
I am creating/updating a worksheet in which we store various details relating to a work-task.
One of which is the Contact email address.

When the address is typed in in an unlocked version of the sheet everything works as expected : the visible placeholder hyperlink changes from the [email protected] to the Freshly typed [email protected],
on mouse over will show the mail to:[email protected] address and when clicked will open a mail with the [email protected] email address utilized.

When the sheet is locked down , even though the data cell is unlocked to allow data entry , the following happens: the visible placeholder hyperlink changes from the [email protected] to the Freshly typed [email protected],
on mouse over will show the mail to:[email protected] address STILL ,and when clicked will open a mail with the [email protected] email address utilized.

Is there some setting , i am missing or is there something that has to be done to locked down sheets to allow the actual hyperlink to update ?

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.
(Pass for the attached sample sheet is : test )

Did you tick Insert hyperlinks then you protected a sheet?
and use Ctrl+K
