Set cell properties at hyperlink destination

Hello all you helpful people in the forum, I'm looking for assistance once again ....

I have a summary of income and expenditure in my Home sheet.
The summary consists of group totals with each Group having a hyperlink to the group range in my Accounts sheet.
Each group range is the collection of the various categories that belong to the group.
eg For "Property" (group) the link would point to (sheet) Accounts- A12:T17,
for "Health" (group) the link would point to (sheet) Accounts- A43:T46, etc

I want to have this range highlighted with a background colour (temporary fill) to clearly identify the cost components of the selected Group.
When the focus is removed from the link range, it would revert to the original state, so there is no actual action taking place other than setting the background colour..

I'm sure it can be done, but can't find anything to tell me how.
I'm hoping this can be done without VBA, but I guess I can cope if need be!!
Can someone tell me how this can be done please.

    Ron S

It would help a lot more if you could attach a sample workbook without sensitive data. It would be easier to "see" what you are talking about.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

    dflak,
Thanks for your reply, it is appreciated.
I've moved on since, tried conditional formatting .. too complex.
Now exploring a macro using Interior.Color.
I think this will do what I want.

    Hi Jerry,
Thank you for that, yes I believe ...
    Am currently trying out Interior.Color.
I think that will do what I want .. I'm still learning VBA so remain forever hopeful!
