    email search

If I have an excel sheet with about 1,000 rows and 5 columns is there an easy way to search and copy in a different column every time "@" appears in a cell. Thus, allowing me an easy way to copy all of the emails found in the excel sheet?

Thanks in advance for all your help

    Re: email search

"search and copy in a different column" Not clear what that means.

Can you provide a specific explanation, including what data is in what columns, and what result you what? The best way to do this is to attach a file that shows what you want the result to look like.

    Re: email search

    I'd say:

    1.) Apply a filter (Ctrl+Shift+L)
    2.) Search on everything with a @ (*@*)
    3.) Copy results to a seperate tab/file/column

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers.

    Re: email search

I have text in about 5,000 cells. In several of these cells there is an email address. I can find which cell when I do a control "F" and search for the "@" symbol. Then once I find the cell with "@" I manually copy the email address and place it in a new column. I am hoping that instead of manually doing this I can get excel to find the emails, then copy them in a new column.

    Thank

Is there a way to copy all at one time versus doing it 1 by 1?

Hard to say without a sample file to experiment with.
