readings from water meter add a monthly use column

I enter water meter readings at different times and dates. The info below is a sample of the data I have in my excel sheet. I need a formula that will take my data and give me the exact total acre feet usage per month.

    Date/Time - 2016 Flow From Totalizer (gpm) - Totalizer Reading - 2016 Running Total Acre-ft

    4/30/16 2:13 PM - 352 - 214139000 - 189.0956296
    5/13/16 9:51 AM 345 220501000 208.6198907

If you were to compute using paper and pencil .... what does the formula look like ?

What are you multiplying, dividing, subtracting, etc. ?

What from what ... or ... what by what ?

I did a search on the internet to try and understand acre feet and it all looks like Greek to me.

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Thank you, I will review and get back with any questions, I appreciate the help. The sheet was carried over from previous years, I will update and save with current version.
