    How to copy the color that is based on conditional format rule from one cell into another?

    How to copy the color that is based on conditional format rule from one cell into another?

    Have a column "A" 400 rows long with values 1 - 400. The idea was to show the cell fill color fading from red to green based on the value - it works great. But I don't want to have the numbers showing.

    You could apply this custom Number Format: ;;;
    In the illustration, A1:A7 contain numbers 1-7, but APPEAR to be EMPTY! USE CAREFULLY!!! If you forget you did this, it can drive you nuts.

    Thanks fro the ideas

    Leelnich - Looks like a nice simple solution but I do not have that option on my dropdown.
    Xladept - I would need a little more explanation on how to actually use that.

    This would make all the numbers invisible:

    Select your cells, then right-click and select Format Cells.... Select the Number tab. Now select Custom, then go up to the Type: box, delete whatever is in it, and type ;;;. Then click OK

    Leelnich - That's great...I never used the type box before.
    Xladept - That's rather slick.

    Thanks so much and people like you make this site so great!
