The Query did not run or Data Model could not be accessed.

let me start by asking for patience. i am not a developer or am i familiar with coding, etc. ...and this is my first post.

i have created a spreadsheet that is a combination of multiple user's data. i am using that master sheet to create pivot tables. However, once i have the pivots created...i use the same "data" tab to delete old data and add data from the different users each week. Basically, i created the master file so that i can plug in data each week and have pivots/charts that should refresh with the data i add each week. Unfortunately, i receiving the error:

"The Query did not run or Data Model could not be accessed. Here's the error message we got: The '5/31/2017' string cannot be converted to date type"

is this something that can be resolved without knowing VBA, etc?

    Thanks in advance.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Also additional sample data to change existing data on your master sheet would be appreciate

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    sbernal,
If your source data is always changing, and you don't use Power Query or Power Pivot, you can still get the flexibility you need by doing this:
    1. Save your Source Data in a separate excel file, say SourceWeekly.xlsx. This should be a different xlsx file than the one that runs your pivot tables.
    2. Follow instructions on this link to create a connection: Connect data in another workbook.
    3. In PivotTable.xlsx, create a new pivot table. In the "Create PivotTable" window, under "Choose the data that you want to analyze", select "Use an external data source". Click on the highlighted button "Choose Connection" and search for SourceWeekly.xlsx

Each time you update SourceWeekly, your pivot table will happily generate new data once refreshed.

    Hope this helps,
    Dan
