so far I have =COUNTIFS(Mon!H:H,"GPTLiftgate*",Mon!J:J,"departure") I want to SUM column AK on the Mon! sheet

Then why are you using COUNT ? You should be using SUM, in this case SUMIFS
Try
=SUMIFS(Mon!AK1:AK100000,Mon!H1:H100000,"GPTLiftgate*",Mon!J1:J100000,"departure")
It is better to qualify a range by specifying the rows rather than a whole column, ie H1:100000 is better than H:H
