    Randomizing players into teams

    Hello all.
I am trying to organise a draft of pre determined players into 32 teams and was wondering if there was a way of doing this in Excel.

    I have a list of 32 teams.
    Each team has 18 positions.

Each requires 1 player to be randomly selected from a pre written list of 32 players.
This process needs to be repeated for the 18 positions.

So far I have created the 32 teams, 18 positions and then the lists of 32 players per position.

I was wondering if there is a formula in excel that could randomise this?

    Any help would be amazing.

    Andrew

Here is a sheet that creates a Bingo card from the names of all US states. I believe that if you use this principle you can expand it to 576 spaces (18*32).

Hi Yeates and welcome to the forum,

The way these types of problems are done is to have in column A the names of your 18 players. Then in column B you put this formula "=Rand()" and fill it down for all the players. Then you sort by column B. This randomly sorts all 18 players. If you did this again, a few columns to the right, and another Rand() column next to it; I can imagine you could do what you need. At the same time, I'd need to understand the problem better to make much more of a solution.

    .
I'm confused. Can't decide if you have 18 players total or 576 players total for 32 games.

If its the latter ... here is one approach :
