    Transferring data between sheets

I want to create a "collated" spreadsheet from ten other tabs that are currently in different sheets. I can do this without issue, clicking on an individual cell, typing = then clickking on the cell in the second sheet that I want the data from. I want to duplicate a lot of data though - and when I try to highlight and pull down, the values from cells below on the sheet I want data from do not populate the collated sheet. Is there a way to do this, or do I have to do every cell individually?

Just clicking = then clicking on the cell in the different sheet that I want the data from,
    so,
    ='[SheetName.xlsx]TabName'!$A$1

    Change it to this:

    ='[SheetName.xlsx]TabName'!A1

(i.e. remove the $ signs) then copy across and down.
