I am running Excel 2016 and I have re-designed the attached worksheet. The original had references to an external file but the current one should not. When you hit the "Edit Links" option on the Data Tab, it shows the external link. However, I cannot find that link so that I can fix it. Based on reading the Excel Help and other posts, I searched:
* cell formulas;
* defined names (there is only one in Name Manager); and
* Data Validation (there are multiple columns that have data validation).
I have spent far too much time on this and I would greatly appreciate if you can point me in the right direction. It is probably something simple but I cannot find it!
On a related note, it seems since upgrading from Excel 2013, when using data validation, I notice that when the validation is pulling from another tab, it defines it with the TAB Name along with absolute reference (e.g. =Prefs!$a$1:$a$5). On numerous occasions, after defining it and using it for some time, Excel seems to lose the TAB name and it only has the Absolute reference without the TAB Name so it assumes that it is current TAB. I thought that this might be a cause of the problem. Was there a change to 2016 (versus 2013) in this regard or, again, I am doing something wrong?
Thanks you, in advance, for your time and guidance!
Jim
