    Annoying arrows

Hi, I'm a real novice at excel and manage to muddle through using google or bothering IS at work.
I have created a spread sheet for a work diary, and as you can see in the dog status column which is drop down choice, two arrows are visible at the side, which appear when I save/close the worksheet and that cell is selected.
Now I know the obvious answer is don't select that cell when saving/closing but is there any way to remove these lingering pesky arrows or prevent them happening in the future as other people use the spreadsheet?
Everything I've tried hasn't got rid of them...this is my first post so hope its in the right place and makes sense.

    Re: Annoying arrows

They are there for a reason: you have a drop-down selection box, and the arrows flag that fact. I can't see any good reason why you would want to hide them from anybody. You are going to have to explain in more detail why you think it's a good idea.

    Re: Annoying arrows

    1. you can hide it (you need to find which one is a "ghost" ) in selection pane
    or
    2. you can delete "ghost" drop down using vba
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    or
    3. remove DataValidation and create new again
    or
    4. you can create brand new workbook with your data
(edit: from old workbook copy values only or in another words: copy/paste as values)

my personal suggestion is : 4

Thank you, I will give that ago sandy
Probably didn't explain myself very well...the arrows are visible all the time, not when I hover over it as every other cell in the column, when you hover over these 'ghost' arrows they contain no options as opposed to the real arrows.
