Screen Refreshing/Flickers every 5 seconds

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I'm using Excel 2016 and when I open a workbook, my screen flickers every ten seconds or so like it's refreshing.

It's quite frustrating as I have a filter on the worksheet and when I click on the filter to filter our some data, it just closes before I get a chance to actually choose the data I need.

Anyone got any ideas why this is happening? I turned calculation to manual and it still occurs.

Also, there are no macros in the workbook..it happens when I open any workbook, including starting a new one.

Had this happen to me at work, my IT department troubleshoot it... and of all things... dropbox was the culprit. No clue as to WHY it was doing it... but something in the latest Microsoft update that rolled out & dropbox was conflicting. Closed out dropbox & viola... no refresh/flickers.

I have the same problem which just started a week ago. Windows 7, Excel 2007). I have tried everything I could think of and removing Dropbox seems to have cured it.
I am going to try reinstalling it now and see what happens.

I reinstalled Dropbox and the problem returned. I am reaching out to them for answers. I have had Dropbox installed for a long time without issues until recently.

Yes, it was dropbox....how weird that is!

I found a patch.
In Dropbox Preferences, General,
Set Dropbox Badge to Never Show

No idea why but it seems to work.

Dropbox has announced a fix but it's still in beta. I think I'm going to wait a while longer.

As I understand it, the Dropbox Badge is only used if you are collaborating with another user to avoid stepping on each other.

I'll post here again when it's in final version.

Yes, this works.
I tried this and it does resolved my problem also. The operation has to be done in all computers connected to the Dropbox, not only in one.
