Exercises needed please!!

Hi all or rather good morning as its 8 a.m. here!

I am in need of some help in regards to obtaining exercises as i embark on this new journey of familiarising my self with the greatness of excel.

I ve been looking online but it seems difficult to get hold of any/many exercises to help me.
As a beginner and also student in accounting (hence the desire to learn excel) im looking for exercises of the following

Pivot tables (need plenty of those)
VLOOKUP
SUMIFS/COUNTIFS
mid/text extraction
and what ever yo may think is helpful and in conjunction with accounting.

Also i would greatly appreciate as many exercises as possible on all types of graphs and charts.

If anyone on here can help that would be great fellow "forumers"!!
I thank you all in advance!!

If you go on youtube there are some excellent tutorials, and you can just follow along with what they're doing. Pivot tables I would suggest experimenting yourself with dummy data, it's one of those things that's much easier to do than to explain (learning it is much easier than teaching it), and once you get the hang of it you wonder what all the fuss was about, and realise how wonderful and powerful they are. Good luck.

Additionally many of us ... me included ... find that one of the most effective ways to learn Excel is to "teach" it. Scan the threads as they come in. As you gain knowledge and confidence post solutions. No one is going to criticize you. Receive any critiques in the spirit they are offered. Then look at the solutions posted by others. Read any explanations.

After that experiment off line too where no one is looking.

Stay alert for resource links posted in threads. After a while you will collect your own.

Try and answer some questions in here and other forums, or see what suggestions have been made and see if you can work through them
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Also the Formula evaluate and the F9 function key are your friends. They are great for trouble shooting, analysis and self instruction. I recommend them whenever I can.

Oh yes.

Make mistakes ... lots and lots of mistakes ... the bigger the better. I am certain we learn far more from those than all our "successes".

I generally make my own when I need to test stuff. That has the advantage that you should be able to predict what the answer should be
(and thanks for the rep )
