    Placing Text-box into printing-margin?

    Hello all,

is there a way to place a text-box into the printing-margin of an Excel-sheet? I deliberately do not want to place that textbox into the footer as then every printed paper-page would have the same text-box.
I can find the breaks of the printed page and place the text-box there, however then it is right next to "normal" text which looks un-elegant.
If I place the text-box directly over the hbreak then it gets printed half on the first page and half on the second page.

    Any idea?

    Cheers,

    Moadll

If it's the idea to prevent the textbox from being printed, you can just switch the propery "Print object".
After selecting the textbox, right-click it and select Format Control - Properties to access that property.
    Cheers!

    Re: Placing Text-box into printing-margin?

    Hello Tsjallie,

the intention would be to have a page-specific footer using the text-box when doing a print-out over multiple paper-sheets.

Footer first page: "Good morning Moadll"
Footer second page: "you are printing more than a page"
    Footer third page: "come on"
Footer fourth page: "is that really required?"

Obviously that's just a fun-representation of what I'd like to do. From the normal use of the text-boxes I can place them just above the hbreak of the print-out, however then it would also cover at least one of my cells in the sheet.
I could still detect that situation using a bit of VBA-code and then insert an empty line, however with a text-box in the printing-marging usually used with the "official" headers/footers I could spare that work.

    Any idea?

    Cheers,

    Moadll

    Re: Placing Text-box into printing-margin?

The closest I can get you for now is this. Not very nice, but may be it suits your needs.
    Restrictions for this solution:
    - takes the last row on a page for the footer (if there happens to be data in that then that can be solved by inserting a row)
    - only works when in Page Break View or Page Layout View
    - needs fixed footer text, because it removes previous footer texts

There is also a possibility to add a variable to a header or a footer, but you can't (afaik) vary that per page.
Don't think that suits your needs.
