    Match Column Error

I'm trying to use index Match to pull a monthly score based on the area and the month. The numbers should read
    Jul - 78
    Aug - 89
    Sep - 92

    However, all 3 read 92
    Jul - 92
    Aug - 92
    Sep - 92

And if I add values to october and december, all 3 will read the lates value.
This is the formula I am using, I think it's someting to do either with the range or the last field that looks at the whole row ($12:$12)

    Hi Kelsey,

Without much study, I make this mistake often also. I'd see if putting a zero as the third argument in the match function helps.

    Re: Match Column Error

    Hi Marvin,

When I used 0 the results now all become #N/A.
When I use the evaluate tool, it looks like the function is reading the date as a number, ,aybe the issue is that the dates are not in the same format? I formatted them as dates twice, but it may be due to the fact that July and August are referencing September and subtracting 30 or 60 days from that to get a 3 month spread.

    Re: Match Column Error

    Hi Kelsey,

The zero as the third argument in the match function says to match "exactly". If you have a date and subtract 60 or 90 days it might not fall on the first of the month and match "exactly". If you have your data sorted from small to large, you can use a 1 instead of a zero and it will find the exact or one below what you are trying to match.

In your example I need a bit more information. What do you expect the results to be? And can you give a few more examples so I can understand your work.
Also - I see you have merged cells in your data layout. Is there a chance this is causing some of the problems. Merged cells are a problem in many ways. Can you remove them?

    Re: Match Column Error

I am unable to sort my data because I need it in chronological order, when I use a 1, I get the same result as in my first submission, all 3 months read the same value as the current month.
I have indicated the expected results below each row with red numbers for clarity.
The goal is to have the dashboard summarize the monthly results of categories (ex. A and B) in Area 2 as indicated in the Score Entry page. These monthly values are summarized in the score entry tab (FR:GC for 2017). I want the dashboard to pull these numbers based on the current month as indicated in cell C3 on the dashboard and based on the categories in column A (A or B)
I removed all merged cells and gave another example of the next row.
