Trying to autocomplete text cells in a form

I've got a form as an Excel document, and I'm trying to set it up so that it will autocomplete cells with text.

To start - a cell with a drop-down menu, with several vendors as items in the drop-down list, and what I'd like to do is make the shipping method cell in the form and the payment method cell auto-complete once you choose the vendor.

    Like...
    (cell 1 --> cell 2 --> cell 3)

Acme Inc --> Will Call --> Send Bill

Beav LLC --> Ship to Cthulhu Industries --> Pay by Visa

Dwarven Corp. --> Will Call --> Charge to Paypal Acct

    Does that make sense?

Also, Excel is kind of a legacy choice - if Excel won't do this, is there a better choice of program?

    Thanks in advance!

Excel can do it, it can do almost anything (given enough coding and the required source data).

I presume you have some sort of database of what you want it to fill in when you type each entry? and you plan to have that in your sheet somewhere?

can you upload a sample file of what you want with that data in the format you can get it in? (obviously we don't need real data - just in the same format)

To attach a file to your post,
click go advanced (next to post quick reply),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

If you want something done right... find a forum and ask an online expert.

OK, I think I've attached the form correctly.

Sheet 1 is the template form, and cell A4 is chosen from a drop-down menu. I'd love to arrange it so that A7, C7, E7, and G7 autocomplete from the data in the chart in Sheet 2. Is that possible?

    Hi teiru

You could use Data Validation to create a drop-down list of your vendors.

You could then use VLOOKUP to look up the selected vendor in a table which lists all vendors and their associated shipping and payment methods.

    See the example sheet attached.
