How to find reference to external file and break it

    Hi!

I'm working in a excel file which gives an error message each time I open it... The message is as follows:

We can't connect to 'Https://myoffice .... .xlsx' . Please make sure you're using the right web adress.

I tried to look for this reference in the file, however, I can't find it.... Is there an easy way to find this reference and delete it?

    Many thanks!
    kind regards
    Jeroen

    • make a copy
    • delete all data
      if reference still there
    • check all names in Name Manager
    • post file here
    or try Find&Replace: *.xl*

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately, the excel is to complex to copy paste in a new file.

I have looked in the name manager and found nothing. Same goes for the Ctrl + F --> ' .xl' method....

Not copy data from file to file
Just copy file and delete data there.
You should see something like this: Copy of....
save it after delete data and post it here via Go Advanced/Manage Attachemnt....

Hmm, since it contains confidential data I can't post it online unfortunately.
    Thanks

Did you read what I said???
Make a copy of file, DELETE ALL data there, save, check if reference to external file still exist - if yes - post it here

    I cannot say it simpler

Nobody want your confidential data, even if it would be from Algemeene Inlichtingen- en Veiligheidsdienst
