i have 2 input criteria contain a date between two columns

Code start date end date growth rate
    304 1/3/2017 2/9/2017 3.5
    203 1/4/2017 2/9/2017 3.2
    307 5/5/2017 2/9/2017 2.7
    307 2/4/2017 5/5/2017 2.3
    123 2/2/2017 5/5/2017 2.2
    307 1/1/2017 5/5/2017 1.5
    204 2/9/2017 10/20/2017 1.1

    in this example,

the inputs are: code#, a date of start and a date of end
the output is: the growth rate.

    any help with explanation please??!

Re: i have 2 input criteria contain a date between two columns

The sample that you showed in post #1 has overlapping dates for the same code.

For example, what growth rate would you expect for code 307 with a date of 2/20/2017?

Also, note that row 4 (of your sample in post #1) has a start date after the end date.

When you do post your sample, upload an actual Excel workbook (not a picture) showing the data along with the desired result (manually entered) of a formula.

To upload a workbook, go to Go Advanced > Manage Attachments > Choose File > Upload > Close this window.

    Hi Bohsen.

Try entering this formula in cell K11. This will also work for dates in between the 'Start date' and 'End date' as below.
