How to Protect Workbook

Hi there,

I would like to find out how can I protect the workbook by able enter the password to edit, or read-only.

But for read-only, and if you make any change and save, Message Box say "File is read-only. To save a copy, click OK, then give the workbook a new name in the Save As dialog box.


Can this option use in MS Word?

It is relatively easy to set up a user form with protection removal and save functionality in excel. I have a range of macros I have previously written and can adapt for your excel model if required.

The protection protocols are somewhat different for Word documents as the protection and access is part of the File\info menu.

If you would like to upload your excel spreadsheet I can modify the macros I have to suit.
