    Re: IF formula Error

    Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behavior, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

Thanks again for all your hard work here!

Post the formula and explain what you are doing with it.

    Re: IF formula Error

Dear Expert, I am truly apologies for the same. Would surely be keep in mind henceforth while posting a thread. Dear Expert the reason for not provided the expected results because there are formula errors where i am expecting the results.

That is the only reason to keep the formula with error so the Experts can easily understand where the error is.

    Many thanks and kind regards,

    Neilesh

    Re: IF formula Error

I asked you to post the formula in the thread and explain what you are trying to do. No one wants to open a workbook and try to figure out what you are doing. Explain in the post, don't just say it doesn't work!

    Re: IF formula Error

    Dear Expert,

I am trying to make a excel chart based on the formula from Cell H4:K34, where it will shrink or expand automatically when the value appears in the table from cell B4:E34 which be completely based on counts in Cell G4.

Because if i try to make excel chart based on the present scenario data from Cell B4:E34 then there will be gaps in the chart but if i do use the formula based on the counts and then i make excel chart then based on the count value my excel chart will automatically shrink and expand with no gaps.

Please find here formula which i am trying to use and it gives me perfect result From Cell H4:K4 but it gives me error from Cell H5:K34.

    Re: IF formula Error

There are two problems with the current formula.

    1. $C$4:$C$34 is text. In order to get expected results the condition needs to be IF(ISTEXT($C$4:$C$34). You currently have IF(ISNUMBER($C$4:$C$34).

    2. This is an array entered formula. If you aren’t familiar with array-entered formulas array enter means the formula must be committed from edit mode by simultaneously pressing and holding down Ctrl and Shift while hitting Enter in the first cell (H4). Then copy down and across.

    This works at my end.
