Pivot table sorting alphabetically - with exception

    Hi

I have a pivot table linked to a dynamic ODCB data source.
The pivot table (rows field) is sorted alphabetically by 'Brand', but ideally I would like "Other" to appear at the bottom.

I don't think I can use custom lists/sorting as the data is dynamic and multiple brand names can be added when refreshed etc.

Is there a way to sort "Other" at the bottom? Or can I somehow create a Custom list using wildcards and 'Other at the bottom??

    Many thanks

Is data brought in by "Get & Transform"?

If so, you can add sort index on table in Query Editor and sort based on it.

No I'm not using Get and Transform. The pivot table is linked to an external Access database query

Then you'd need another query or process to import distinct list of Brand, add sort index and sort on it. Use that as custom sort list.

However, disadvantage to custom sort is that unless you code or user import from list on sheet, they may not have access to it.

If PowerQuery (Get & Transform) is generally available to users in the organization. I'd strongly recommend using it.
It will take some getting used to, but offers great flexibility and is one of more powerful feature in Excel.

Alternately, you can tack on sort index# to brand name in source table/query.
