I have a condition to check an individual is no older than 18 using "less than" but the empty cells are also being changed. How can I stop this from happening?

Try this as the formula in your conditional formatting - B2 is first cell in range being formatted

That's great thanks, but I have changed it so it highlights DOBs for people older than 18.
Now I will change my DOBs for parents.
