I just upgraded my Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10. All my existing programs work with one glaring exception. Excel (from Office 2010) opens to a blank, greyed-out screen when I double-click a .xlsx file or a pinned shortcut to the file. If I open Excel 2010 itself I get a normal, blank workbook.
I've tried is solutions found online like (1) File > Options > Trust Center > Protected View and unchecking all under "Protected View", (2) File > Options > Advanced > "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)", (3) double-check file association of .xlsx with Excel.
I tried the Repair option with Excel under Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 > Change > Repair but that didn't work either.
I'm at a loss. Again, everything worked fine under Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), it's only after the online upgrade to Windows 10 Home (64-bit) that this issue has arisen.
PC is Dell Inspiron 660 w/8GB RAM, i5 Intel processor, (was) Windows 7 (64-bit) (now) Windows 10 Home (64-bit).
My intent was to upgrade this PC to Windows 10 and get all the bugs worked out of softare before moving it all to a new Dell XPS workstation.
