problem with multiple words in a dependent drop-down list

I need to create a dependent drop-down list but the second list has multiple words and excel doesn't like spaces
    the first list is -:
    =[name]

    the second list is -:

    =INDIRECT ($A2)

    the third list is -:

    =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE($B2," ",""))

but this doesn't work when the entry in the second list is
i.e. Toxicology - Single Dose Studies

    can anyone please help?

It seems as if the scenario you are describing might fit into the section of this article sub titled "Using Items with Illegal Characters".
If that isn't helpful, although I certainly can't make any promises, it might be easier to help if you could upload a sample spreadsheet showing the results (manually mocked up) that you expect.
To upload a sample spreadsheet click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
