Question Display text from range without losing value/ Custom Conditional Data Bars

    Hi Everyone again!

    I hope you've had a good time.

Today I come to you with another question. Basically I'm creating a multiple project summary report and at the beginning I have a delivery road-map for the next 6 months A3:L8. Below I have a General diagnostics and below that a Task progress analysis. As you can see in the attached file, in J19:J23, I have a progress bar. I want to display the data bars as well on the road-map, but instead of the number, I want to have the project name appear.

I was trying to use Custom Number formatting, but I don't know how to add a cell reference that matches the project name with the progress value.

Also, if possible, I would like to be able to change the color of the data bar based on the health of the project K11:K15. So green gradient, Yellow, orange and red.

Any chance anyone can help me out?

    Thanks.

    Kiwinho!

Re: Display text from range without losing value/ Custom Conditional Data Bars

    Hi
Avoid as much as possible the use of merged cells. Also avoid using text to reference dates.

    Like this,
Ungroup all cells in the range A3: K8
    In A3 use the formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

On A4 use the formula and copy it to A8
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

In B4 use the formula and copy it to B8
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

Select A3: A8 and format the text with color equal to the background color (white) to remove the values
Select A3: B3 and format the alignment as centered in the selection
    Select A3: B8 and drag to K8.

Re: Display text from range without losing value/ Custom Conditional Data Bars

    Hi José,

Obrigado (Thanks) for your suggestion, but it doesn't quite do what I'm looking for. Specially because it repeats the project names on the row. Please have a look at this file... I have manually adjusted the "roadmap" so that it looks how I would want it to. But the idea is that it does this automatically.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Cheers,
