Count/Countif/Countifs assistance please.

Hi everyone - I hope somebody can help.
In the attached spreadsheet, I'd like to know which formula to use in the 'alternative' sheet to count the number of Y's and N's in Column H the 'register sheet'

Sound straightforward but I need to ensure that the numbers tally to the team responsible (Column G) . i.e If there is a W in column G - then that N or Y should go in the tally of the W table in the 'alternative' sheet.

Does that make sense? Is anyone able to lend a hand/offer some assistance please?
