Validation not moving along with sorting

Hi

In the attached workbook the data is transferred from a userform.(original workbook with userform can't be uploaded due to some complexity). the validation in C column is added while the data was transferred from the useform taking the value of a control as validation message of course at run-time.

My main problem is
When I sort the worksheet, the validation doesn't changes its position with the sorted values. I googled the problem but can't find any solution.

CAN WE MOVE THE VALIDATION WITH SORTING?

Help would be highly appreciated

Your validation is to lists in external documents so I can't test or validate the issue. However, I have a suggestion that might work: Format the data as an Excel Table.

Hi deflak thanks for the review.

I need to move the validation of only C column which is not from outside ducument. "Show input message when cell is selected" type validation.

And I noticed the Excel Table also fails to move the validation alsongwith sorting.

I see the issue now. I created a short, similar set of data in another worksheet, and the validation does not move with it either, so that makes regional settings or some other settings an unlikely source of the issue.

The validation stays locked to the cell. I think that is the way Excel is designed

The only way I've figured out how to move the validation is to cut and paste it somewhere else. I can think of a rather clumsy way of making it happen.

1. Make a copy of the table
2. Sort the new table.
3. Run code to find the person on the original table
4. Apply the old validation to the new location
