Need help calculating min, max, mean & s.d. for multiple groups

Hello,

I'm wanting to calculate the min, max, mean and standard deviation of replicates for groups (or in this case, families). I managed to do this ages back for another set of data, where I took replicate measurements for plant height of different plant families and then somehow got excel to generate a new worksheet containing the min, max, mean and s.d. for each plant family. So for example, in the original worksheet I had:

FAMILY HEIGHT (cm)
Family_1 10
Family_1 11
Family_1 9
Family_2 18
Family_2 15
etc.

and in the new one generated by excel, it had:

FAMILY Mean Minimum Maximum s.d.
Family_1 x x x x
Family_2 x x x x
etc.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Yes that format is exactly what I mean, although somehow I managed to do this without any added extensions and, somehow, the results were generated in an entirely new excel file. Nonetheless, that's certainly what I'm interested in - is PivotTable a free add-in, or will I need to download it from somewhere?

PivotTable is a standard in Excel from years (look at INSERT Tab)
PowerPivot & PowerQuery (Get&Transform) are built-in in Excel 2016
so everything you've in your Excel version
