Count how often a value/name occurs

WHat is the simplest solution to count example: How many times a player name appear.
My data will be keyed in column A:A

Name:
Alan
James
Randy
Alan
Bobby
Alan
Bobby
==========

Output anywhere on same sheet:

Name: No of visit:
Alan 3
James 1
Randy 1
Bobby 2

I found many solutions but it seems like i need to pre-set the names into formula,this is not my case because i dont have fixed players. IF random names it wont make the count.

Attach a sample workbook.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Hi Anee and welcome to the forum,

If you start your own new thread it is much better. If you can attach a sample workbook, that is better yet.

I'd do this problem using a Pivot Table, that needs NO formulas.
