Is there a setting I've not so far found that will get rid of it please?

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
Thanks Aardigspook, that looks promising, aim to try the registry hack asap.
EDIT: Unfortunately I was over optimistic, as it didn't work ;-(
Probably not for Win 10.
I'm still looking, as it's darned annoying that I can't be trusted to open files I create from scratch myself!

Sorry it didn't work - thanks for the rep, even though I don't deserve it!
Anyone else with same problem? Better - anyone know how to fix it?
I tried the obvious route of making changes in the Excel 365 Trust Centre.

I then tried various registry hacks in vain. The most popular/recent one was on pages like this:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...007-office-pro
But that too failed, as you see:
RedundantErrorMessage-4.jpg
Yes, I know it's only one extra click, but it's just plain daft that I can't switch it off!
I'm wondering if a VBA macro (from someone, not me!) could do it? Recognise the message opening and immediately close it. I'd do it myself with Macro Express Pro, but it would inevitably take a second or so to work (effectively clicking 'OK'), which is no faster than I could do it myself. And I'd still SEE it!
Here's an illustration in case there's any ambiguity about what I'm describing:

@Moderator: There are only three images attached to my edited post - yet a fourth (old) one still appears!

Hi,
The registry entry you add should be a DWORD, not a String- you've added the wrong type.
Don
Please remember to mark your thread 'Solved' when appropriate.
Sorted! I wrote a simple (MX Pro) macro activated by the opening of the window 'Microsoft Office'. Seems I was unduly pessimistic about its speed, as it takes maybe only about a quarter of a second between clicking the cell and seeing the video open. Still long enough to see it, but I'm satisfied.
Presumably this is the sort of thing that 'Event macros' are for in VBA?
Did you reboot after changing the type? Sometimes that seems to be necessary for registry changes to "take".
I have just noticed it looks like you added it in the wrong place too. It should be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Security
and not in the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Security key.
Got my links and screenshots scrambled in my earlier post. That one was a result of my implementing the instructions from this page, in the Policies section.
https://www.technipages.com/disable-...d-data-message
That is already in place. But no joy. Perhaps one conflicts with the other...
Will get back on case first thing tomorrow.
Thanks for your interest and support.
Here's a summary of what I think I've done so far. Later today I'll check once more.
SUMMARY of methods I've tried to remove the redundant message
Suggestion #1
https://www.technipages.com/disable-...d-data-message
Expand the plus sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
then Software
then Policies
then Microsoft
then Office
then 16.0
then Common
Select the “Common” key, select “New” on the “Edit” menu, and then click “Key“.
Type “Security“, and then press “Enter“ to name the key.
On the “Edit” menu, point to “New“, and then select “DWORD Value“.
Type “DisableHyperlinkWarning“, and then press “Enter“ to name the entry.
In the right pane, right-click “DisableHyperlinkWarning“, and then select “Modify“.
In the “Edit DWORD Value” dialog box, select “Decimal“, and then type “1” under “Value data“.
Close Regedit and restart the computer.
TRIED. Still get the redundant message.
Suggestion #2

Or
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/disabl...arnings-office
To enable or to disable the hyperlink warnings in 2007 Office programs and in Office 2010 programs when an http:// address, a notes:// address, or an ftp:// address is used, you must create a new registry subkey. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open dialog box, type regedit, and then click OK.
Notes
You have to modify only one of these registry subkeys. You do not have to modify both.
If the Security subkey already exists, go directly to step 6 after you select the Security subkey.
In Registry Editor, locate one of the following registry subkeys for 2007 Office:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common
Or, in Registry Editor, locate one of the following registry subkeys for Office 2010:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common
Click the registry subkey, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click Key.
Type Security, and then press Enter to name the key.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type DisableHyperlinkWarning, and then press Enter to name the entry.
In the right pane, right-click DisableHyperlinkWarning, and then click Modify.
In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click Decimal, and then type 1 or 0 under Value data.
Note A value of 0 enables the hyperlink warning message. A value of 1 disables the hyperlink warning message.
Click OK.
TRIED (modified by adding key to 16.0 because I use Excel 365). Still get the redundant message.
Suggestion #3
https://getadmx.com/?Category=Office...erlinkwarnings
EXCEL > Options > Trust Center > Trusted Locations > Add new location...
The files whose hyperlinks I am opening (and getting the daft message) are all in sub-folders beneath D:\Videos+Projects. I therefore added that to the 'User Locations' section. I don't understand the 'Policy Locations' section, which is currently empty.
TRIED. Still get the redundant message. (I also tried enabling 'Allow Trusted Locations on my network (not recommended)' even though I don't really understand it in this context, but no change there either. Unchecked that subsequently.
For #1 did you add a specific exception for the file: protocol?
For #2, did you note the section at the bottom of the Microsoft link about what to do if you still receive a warning message?
Thanks xlnitwit and sorry for delay in replying.
Re #1: Can you explain further what you mean please? How/where do I 'add a specific exception for the file: protocol' ?
Re #2: Do you mean "Note Even after you follow these steps, you will receive the warning message if you open files in Office 2010 under Protected View."? If so, I don't know how to set or disable 'Protected View'.
In the Microsoft article to which you linked, review the section titled "How to enable or disable hyperlink warnings per protocol"
Re #2, no I meant the section just above that about the EditFlags registry changes.
