    Inserted Object Name Excel 2010

    Hello there,

I was wondering if anybody could help me with this.

I've created an Active X button in my workbook in Excel 2010 that opens a dialogue box to inset an object.

I usually insert JPG files that are named something like VAN1234567.

However, whenever I insert those, Excel change their names on my sheet to something like 8E9165AB.jpg. Same happens if I insert it the usual way, without my button.

Is there a way to keep the original name that I've given to the file prior to inserting it (i.e. VAN1234567)?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Can you show where it is changing the name? The only spot I am aware of it changing names is in the top left corner next to the formula bar. If this is the can the answer is yes.

    Before inserting.JPG
    That is the original file

    After inserting.JPG
That's what it looks like in my work book

I can't seem to duplicate the problem. I am going insert on the ribbon>Object>box opens>Create from file tab>browse>select file>click open> click ok and then mine are coming in with the same name.

Could you attach a desensitized file so I can take a closer look maybe?
