Question Most Efficient Way of Automating Exportation of ODBC Data Based on Date/Time?

I am looking to creating an automated system that pulls info from ODBC on a daily basis and at a specific time as well. My question is though; What would be the best way to automate this? I want a program to always run in background anytime windows starts up so they system knows when to export the ODBC data. What would be the best way to do this? I've seen that I could create a .vbs batch file that I could add to windows startup, but I don't know if that would be the most effective/efficient way of doing it. Right now, I have made the script entirely in VBA Excel which works fine. Thanks for any suggestions and thoughts!
