    Dropdown with symbols

    Hi,
I've created a dropdown, whereby the user has an option of either selecting a 'tick' symbol or an 'x' symbol (i.e. to correspond to Yes or No, respectively). The font of these items in my control tab (sheet 2, cells a1 and a2) is Wingdings 11. The font in the dropdown on sheet one is also Wingdings 11. When I click the dropdown, however, the visual option shows either a 'ü' or a 'u' with a ^ symbol above it.

How do I correct this so that the dropdown shows either a 'tick' or an 'x'?

    Thank you!

    Re: Dropdown with symbols

    Hi than,
Thank you, but not quite what I'm looking for. The tick symbol is not consistent with Tahoma font, so I'm none the wiser.

    Re: Dropdown with symbols

Follow the instructions given in link in #2.

Select a cell (say D1), select "Insert" then "Symbols" then select "Tick" symbol then Insert

Select D2 and repeat (I used (letter) "X"

Then set named range for cells D1:D2 (I called mine "Symbols")

    For your drop-down DV

    = LIst

    = Symbols

Set font of drop cell to to Tahoma
