How to unpivot dates in excel

I have a file with dates in columns. 1 day for each date and then customer name in the first column. How can I change the structure so that the dates become dates and values (creating a date and value column)? Thanks.

Re: How to unpivot dates in excel

At first glance, it sounds like a text to columns type of problem: http://www.excel-easy.com/examples/text-to-columns.html If the date string is something that Excel can recognize as a date (see options at the appropriate step of the text import wizard), then the date should be recognized and converted to a date serial number automatically. If not, then there could be additional steps needed to convert the date string to something Excel can recognize.

If there is more to it than that, then I suggest you upload a sample of your data file so we can see how the data is arranged.

Ok. I'm not sure I understand. I've attached the file. In the third tab "combination" there are dates in the column. I want to unpivot these.

    There is no file attached.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
