Formatting Issue when cutting and pasting charts next to data

I'm having trouble when cutting and pasting (as picture) a chart next to the data. I'm selecting a frame of cells around the chart and data so that when I paste as picture in word, I get a picture as seen on the spreadsheet. The result is part of the chart, with the data semi-hidden behind the chart. It appears that something has changed with my excel settings as the problem follows all spreadsheets, even a new one that I developed today.
