    Format File Size

    Hi.

I have a question for you.

I have an analysis report that you drop data in to and it can be no more than 100 rows x 20 columns opf data.
There is 2 tabs that have a VBA scripted button. the button on each tab pulls set data from the 100 rows of data and gives you the result.
The standard file format saving is Excel Binary. When it saves it is around 4mb.

When I resave the file as xlsx it takes away the VBA functions but the file sizeis 40mb.

Why would the file size but excessively bigger?

    Many Thanks

    Nath'

    Re: Format File Size

Binarys are generally smaller than XLS-type files, so it's probably not the data.

Try saving it as an XLSM so it can retain the VBA -- is that one like 50-60 MB? If so, that's indicating the weight is in the VBA somehow.

    If not... IDK

    Re: Format File Size

The file should be less than 100KB.

Try clearing, and then deleting, all unused rows and columns, then save, close, and reopen.
