Large TXT file into Excel

I have a large txt file that exceeds the excel row limits. How can import this file and spread it across several sheets (tabs)? I've tried to use visual basic code (i'm not a coder) from the interwebs....I just cut and pasted into a macro but that didn't work. I kept getting an error about no path or file.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In versions of XL before 2007, there was a limit of 64k rows in each sheet, so if you had text files with more rows than that you had to do what you are asking for now (although you can have up to 1 million rows in each sheet). Chip Pearson has a routine on his site for importing data across multiple sheets in those earlier Excel versions, and is available here:

Perhaps you can amend the macro to work with the later versions.

You can use PowerQuery without any third party software and divide this txt file as you wish
