    Question Syncing multiple workbooks

In workbook 1, columns A-D have employee info (first name, last name, division, and supervisor) and columns E-H have dates trainings were completed
In workbook 2, columns A-D have the same employee info but columns E-K are tracking employee schedules and attendance
In workbook 3, columns A-D have that same employee info again, but columns E-I are tracking employee outcomes
(Each workbook is tracking additional info on other tabs, hence not having the previously mentioned sheets all in the same workbook)
I need a way to sync columns A-D between all three workbooks so that when I add an employee or change an employee's supervisor in workbook 1, it will show up in the other workbooks. I tried to use a reference formula but if I add an employee on on line 6 of workbook 1, workbook 2 won't move the employee schedules to leave a blank line for the new employee, so everyone after the new employee will have the wrong schedule.
I've also tried Get & Transform with the same problem.
    Does anyone have any ideas??
    I'm using Excel 2016.

Can you attach a desensitised sample workbook?

    The opposite, actually
I'm trying to set it up so that any time an employee is updated or added in tracking, he/she will also be updated/added in workbook 2 and workbook 3

    Re: Syncing multiple workbooks

    ok, start over
main file: workbook1 (it will manage columns A-D for workbooks 2 and 3)
workbook 1 get info from wb 2 and 3 from columns after D ->> E,F, etc
user cannot change columns A-D but only columns after D
manager cannot change columns after D but can change A-D
user cannot get info (except A-D) from wb 1 and wb2 cannot get infor from wb3 and vice versa
manager can get all info from wb 2 and 3
user can add info to all rows visible on his wb but no more than manager share with him

so if there is 34 rows - user can add any data to 34 rows and manager can get all info from these 34 rows from users

but uers can get data from 34 rows but only from columns A-D

    twisted, I know

    Cool Re: Syncing multiple workbooks

    Ok, try this....
unzip and move sync folder directly to C:\
if you want another location you will need to change filepath to all workbooks (and probably you'll do that )

but for now to check how it works: C:\sync\(files)
