    Match Function -- Help required

    Hi,

    I have tried using Index and match to get out put. Help required for column validation/Match from Worksheet Input ranges (A:A,B:B & $C$2 to $G$2), result required is in Output worksheet column D for same matches for ranges given from input worksheet.

    Attached Excel with both worksheets Input and Output : Result expected is in Output Column D.

    What I see is an attempt to "unpivot" a table. Rather than using lookup functions, I think I would use the built in "unpivot" tool in Get and Transform.

    MrShortly, Thanks for your reply. Unpivot function does not work for me as the Output file is having other 20 Nos of fields also which are fixed. I have restricted my output excel in this thread only for the fields i need validations. Hope i have clarified my requirement. Is there any other way to achieve my output.

    =LOOKUP(2,1/(INPUT!$A$3:$A$5=A3)/(INPUT!$B$3:$B$5=B3),INDEX(INPUT!$C$3:$G$5,0,MATCH(C3,INPUT!$C$2:$G$2,0)))
