Any way to autocorrect past 255 characters?

I've seen this question posted, but no answers. I have a workbook that will be used for extensive notetaking, and would really like for the users to be able to take full advantage of the autocorrect feature, but it stops working in each cell after 255 characters. Is this possible, or a lost cause?

I don't think that will work. Is there a reason you are using Excel for taking notes, rather than, say, Word?

The workbook is a combination of data entry and free-type text. For the data entry, I'm using a series of userforms and the setup is working really well. I would just like the autocorrect to function for the text cells...
