    Problem summing rounded numbers.

I cut and pasted numbers into a workbook - dollar amounts..
Each number showed 2 digits to the right of the decimal point.

I preferred to have them rounded and not use cents so:
    Format
    Format Cells
Number - and for Decimal Places set it to 0.

Now I find that even though these numbers are now rounded with no decimal numbers, when I add them it uses the original values pre-formatting to 0 Decimal Places.

I see that because if I click on a rounded number the white horizontal line on top [BTW - What is that called?] shows the number with 2 Decimal Places as it was pre-formatting.

The problem is that I'm copying the formatted rounded numbers to another column and summing those as well.
After awhile, there is a 1 or 2 dollar difference which was causing me incredible confustion how this could be until I noticed the original decimal number showing on top in the white space on top.

How can I get it to accept the rounded numbers as is and not recall the original 2 decimal place numbers?

    That's called the "Formula Bar".

Changing the formatting as you describe only changes the way the value is displayed, it doesn't change the value itself.
If you really want to get rid of the cents then there are methods. For example there are functions called ROUND / ROUNDUP / ROUNDOWN that could be useful.

If you need more help, attach a (desensitized) sample workbook and show us your expected results.

    Thank you.

If I put my cursor on cells and move it along, as you know the numbers sum on the bottom right.

Is there any way to get the type larger on the results (Average/Count/Sum)?

Select the cells in question and increase the font size.

A female Ali G. Wow! Love it.

Thanks for the response - I didn't explain it well.

I meant the right side very bottom edge of the workbook itself - below the cells - to the left and parallel to the Zoom Adjuster.
The figures appear there - I'm getting a sore neck from leaning forward to read them properly.
